What this amendment would do
SA 4018, submitted by Mrs. Shaheen, is an amendment to bill H.R. 4016.
The purpose of this amendment is the extension of temporary enhanced premium credits. It aims to change the following in the Internal Revenue Code of 1986:
- It changes the date of January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2029.
- It changes the year 2025 to 2028 in specific headings.
These changes apply to section 36B(b)(3)(A) and section 36B(c)(1)(E), the latter of which concerns taxpayers whose household income exceeds 400 percent of the poverty line.
The effective date for these amendments is for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025.
