What this amendment would do

SA 4004, submitted by Ms. Duckworth, aims to add a section to the bill regarding a Fertility Treatment Program under TRICARE.

The purpose of this amendment is to:

  • Use funds from the Defense Health Program to provide or cover assisted reproductive technology services, such as in vitro fertilization and intrauterine insemination, for beneficiaries under chapter 55 of title 10, United States Code.

  • Ensure these services are provided based on the guidelines of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

  • Remove the requirement that a service-connected condition must exist to receive fertility treatment.
