What this amendment would do

SA 3949, submitted by Mr. Merkley, is an amendment to bill H.R. 5371. The purpose of this amendment is to restrict how funds provided to the Department of Veterans Affairs are used.

It aims to add a section to the bill to ensure that funds are not used to:

Interfere with a veteran's ability to participate in a State-approved medicinal marijuana program.
Deny services from the Department to any veteran participating in such a program.
Limit or interfere with a Department health care provider's ability to take steps to comply with such a program, including filling out forms or making recommendations.
