What this amendment would do

Mr. Peters submitted amendment numbered SA 388 to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.

Purpose and Changes

The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the fair administration of disaster aid at the end of title III.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels.
  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to ensuring that Federal disaster aid cannot be delayed or withheld because of the political affiliation of a State, organization, or individual.
  • This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
