What this amendment would do
-
Sets up a fund: The amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to multijurisdictional drug task forces.
-
Gives budget power: It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
Targets specific legislation: These changes can be made for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports that relate to Federal drug enforcement policy.
-
Expands programs: The policy may include expanding programs related to State and local drug task forces.
-
Protects the budget: The legislation providing for these purposes must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
