What this amendment would do

SA 3369, submitted by Ms. Baldwin, is an amendment to bill H.R. 3944, which covers appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Director of the National Science Foundation to reinstate grants or awards that were cancelled on or after January 20, 2025.

The only exceptions to this reinstatement are grants or awards cancelled because of:

  • Research fraud
  • Financial mismanagement
  • Malfeasance
