What this amendment would do

Mr. Wyden, joined by Ms. Hirono, submitted amendment SA 306 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preserving and ensuring current federally approved access to mifepristone.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to preserving and ensuring current federally approved access to mifepristone.
  • These revisions and adjustments can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
