What this amendment would do
Mr. Murphy, along with Mr. Booker and Mr. Blumenthal, submitted amendment SA 296. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preventing financial support for neo-Nazis to the concurrent resolution.
Changes and Additions
The amendment aims to add a new section to title III of the budget resolution. Specifically, it allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
- This applies to legislation relating to countering neo-Nazism.
- It includes legislation that would prohibit the direct or indirect financing of, or support for, foreign or domestic neo-Nazi groups or political parties.
- These revisions and adjustments are allowed provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
