What this amendment would do

SA 2897, submitted by Mr. Merkley, is an amendment to SA 2853 regarding bill H.R. 4.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a restriction to the bill. It aims to ensure that funds previously appropriated for Bureau of Indian Affairs programs supporting American Indians and Alaska Natives are not used to restore funding for Tribal radio stations if that funding is eliminated due to rescissions from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Specifically, it prohibits these funds from being:

Transferred
Merged
Reprogrammed
Repurposed
Otherwise diverted
