What this amendment would do

MR. KING submitted the SA 263 amendment to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to border operations.

  • It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels.
  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to border operations.
  • It specifically includes supporting activities conducted by the Coast Guard for maritime security at the northern border of the United States.
  • The supported activities may include search and rescue, living marine resources enforcement, law enforcement, or counternarcotics operations.
  • The legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
