What this amendment would do
This amendment, numbered SA 261 and submitted by Mr. King, aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to obstetrics and gynecology health care at the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.
The purpose of the amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise budget allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
It aims to change the budget rules to accommodate future legislation relating to health care for servicemembers—specifically including access to obstetrics and gynecology health care or prevention providers for Coast Guard personnel who are temporarily or permanently assigned to remote duty stations—provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
