What this amendment would do

Mr. Warnock, along with Ms. Smith, submitted SA 227 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospitals at the end of title III.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

This applies to legislation relating to supporting hospitals serving low-income patients and patients with disabilities.

The changes may include increasing flexibility for hospitals to meet Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital thresholds, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
