What this amendment would do
MR. MURPHY submitted SA 221, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a point of order against funding for schools owned by for-profit entities. It aims to make it out of order in the Senate to consider any provision in a bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report that provides funding for a school owned by a for-profit entity.
If a Senator makes this point of order and the Chair sustains it, the provision shall be stricken from the measure and cannot be offered as an amendment from the floor.
