What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 219, which is an amendment proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to ensuring that active-duty military, reserve, or National Guard members are not engaged in domestic law enforcement activities at the United States southern border.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to ensuring that these military members are not engaged in domestic law enforcement activities at the southern border, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
