What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 217 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes are meant for legislation that relates to improving access to programs of the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense that provide reproductive medical care or medication.
The people helped by this would be veterans, active duty members of the Armed Forces, or members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces.
The only rule is that this legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
