What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 216, which is an amendment meant to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to improving access by members of the Armed Forces on active duty or members of the reserve components to mental health resources on or off United States military installations.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to improving access by members of the Armed Forces on active duty or members of the reserve components to mental health resources on or off United States military installations.
-
These revisions and adjustments can only be made provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
