What this amendment would do
Mr. Gallego submitted amendment numbered SA 189. The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to prohibiting the closure of United States military bases without notifying Congress at least six months in advance.
How It Works
- The amendment adds a new section at the end of title III.
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
- These changes apply as long as the legislation relates to prohibiting the closure of United States military bases without notifying Congress at least six months in advance and does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
