What this amendment would do

MR. REED submitted the amendment, known as SA 148, which was ordered to lie on the table. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to modernizing public school infrastructure at the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to modernizing public school infrastructure, which may include direct grants to States or tax credit bonds. These changes can only happen provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
