What this amendment would do

Senator Hawley submitted this amendment to be proposed to the bill S. 331, which is about the scheduling of fentanyl-related substances and other purposes.

Plain and simple, this amendment extends the funding timeline for a specific program. It changes the dates in Section 1001(a)(21) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.

Instead of running from 2020 through 2024, the new reauthorization period will run from 2025 through 2029.
