What this amendment would do

Mr. Warner submitted this amendment, numbered SA 124, to the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the budget resolution.

What it aims to change or add: It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to adjust budget levels and allocations for future legislation. Specifically, this applies to legislation that ensures employees of the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and elements of the intelligence community are not subject to retaliation and firing due to the political preferences of any Presidential administration.
