What this amendment would do
MR. COONS submitted amendment numbered SA 1210 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to compliance with orders of courts of the United States.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels.
- Adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger can be made for legislation relating to ensuring that the executive branch complies with a court order of the United States.
- The executive branch must comply with the court order until such time the order is vacated, reversed, or otherwise modified through subsequent litigation.
- The legislation must not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
