What this amendment would do
Mr. Peters submitted amendment numbered SA 1186, which is intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
Purpose and Changes
-
The purpose of the amendment is to add a reserve fund relating to the Federal Government fulfilling its responsibility to pay small businesses for work performed under contract.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These revisions and adjustments are for legislation relating to protecting small businesses. This may include ensuring that small businesses that performed work under contract for the Federal Government are timely paid for work performed, including work performed prior to the funding freeze by the President on January 24, 2025.
