What this amendment would do
Mr. Schumer submitted this amendment, numbered SA 1169, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to business development for Indian Tribes and Tribal businesses at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to Tribal business development, which may include providing support for entrepreneurial, capital access, business development, or contracting needs of Indian Tribes and Tribal businesses.
The amendment requires that any such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
