What this amendment would do
Mr. Kennedy put forward this amendment to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund. As folks we elected to look out for us, we need to know what they are trying to change. This amendment focuses on the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and the levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
What It Aims to Change or Add
The amendment adds a section relating to prohibiting any regulatory burden or unnecessary overreach from delaying the establishment of nuclear energy generation.
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes. The Chairman can revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation related to stopping regulations or overreach from slowing down nuclear energy generation, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
