What this amendment would do
Mr. Booker submitted SA 1161, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III.
This fund allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other levels for legislation relating to preventing conflicts of interest.
What It Aims to Change or Add
The amendment aims to add provisions that may require all Cabinet-level appointees and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to divest all shares in companies that are headquartered in or linked to covered nations.
For this adjustment to happen, the legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
