What this amendment would do

Mr. Schmitt submitted SA 1130 to the concurrent resolution on the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.

  • The amendment adds a new section to the end of title III regarding a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to American defense technology hubs.

The Purpose of the Amendment

The purpose is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to funding defense technology hubs.

  • These changes can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
