What this amendment would do

MR. BOOKER submitted amendment numbered SA 1098 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

Purpose and Changes

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to improving the health of Americans at the end of title III. It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

This applies to one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to improving the health of Americans, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.

What It Aims to Address

  • Nutrition and chronic disease crises: The amendment specifically allows for addressing these issues in the United States.
  • Services: It supports services such as medically tailored meals, nutrition counseling, or produce prescriptions.
