What this amendment would do

Mr. Booker submitted amendment numbered SA 1095 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to ensuring public safety at the end of title III.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These changes apply to legislation relating to public safety, which may include commissioning a study on the impact on violent crime of directing Federal law enforcement agencies to pursue civil immigration enforcement of individuals who have not committed a crime instead of investigating transnational criminal organizations.

The changes are allowed provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
