What this amendment would do
Mr. Coons submitted this amendment to keep our elected officials accountable when it comes to the federal budget and global public health. In plain English, it sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to global public health.
What It Changes or Adds
- Allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
- Allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to promoting global public health.
- Includes restoring longstanding efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.
