What this amendment would do
Ms. Warren submitted SA 1067 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034. It was ordered to lie on the table.
The purpose and goal
The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to leveling the playing field for banks and nonbanks in terms of regulatory supervision over consumer financial products at the end of title III.
How it works
The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate is allowed to revise certain things if specific conditions are met.
* Revise the allocations of a committee or committees
- Revise aggregates
- Revise other appropriate levels in this resolution
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger
These revisions can be made for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to leveling the playing field for banks and nonbanks in terms of regulatory supervision over consumer financial products. This can only happen by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, provided that such legislation would not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
