What this amendment would do
Mr. Coons submitted this amendment, numbered SA 106, to the Senate concurrent resolution setting the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025 and for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the reinstatement of Federal Aviation Administration workers.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to a specific group of workers.
- The workers are Federal Aviation Administration workers who have been terminated since January 20, 2025.
- The terminations must have been without cause and not based on a performance review or conduct in the workplace.
These changes can be made as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
