What this amendment would do
As folks who sent us to Washington, you expect us to keep an eye on things that affect your everyday lives, like your credit scores. Ms. Warren submitted an amendment, numbered SA 1055, which was ordered to lie on the table for the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7.
Purpose and Changes
-
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preventing credit reporting companies from including inaccurate medical debt information on consumer credit reports.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These changes are meant for legislation relating to preventing credit reporting companies from including inaccurate medical debt information on consumer credit reports, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
