What this amendment would do
As folks who want to keep an eye on how things are run in Washington, we need to know what our elected officials are trying to do with our money and laws. Ms. Warren submitted SA 1054, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
What It Aims to Change or Add
This amendment adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III. Its purpose is to support data portability for consumers regarding their personal, financial data.
To make this happen, the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate is allowed to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. They can also make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation related to supporting data portability for consumers for their personal, financial data. This is only allowed as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
