What this amendment would do
-
Ms. Rosen submitted this amendment to the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025 and through fiscal year 2034.
-
The amendment adds a new point of order to the budget resolution.
-
Its purpose is to stop the Senate from considering any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, or conference report that would reduce U.S. Customs and Border Protection staffing at airports.
-
To get around this rule and pass something that cuts this staffing, it would take a three-fifths vote of all the chosen and sworn Senators to waive it or to win an appeal against the Chair's ruling.
