What this amendment would do

Mr. Sullivan submitted amendment SA 1029, which was proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 congressional budget.

  • The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting Medicare and Medicaid at the end of title III.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, other appropriate levels, and the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • These adjustments are for legislation relating to protecting the Medicaid program, which may include strengthening and improving Medicaid for the most vulnerable populations, and extending the life of the Federal Hospital Insurance Trust Fund.

  • The changes can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
