What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1028, which is an amendment intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to encouraging investments in building more affordable housing at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to encouraging investments in building more affordable housing.
These revisions and adjustments will be made by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, as long as that legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
