What this amendment would do

Mr. Peters submitted amendment SA 1010, which aims to add a new deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to make adjustments to allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that relates to ensuring that security clearances cannot be terminated for political reasons, including for political or personal retribution.

To make these changes happen, the legislation must meet a specific condition:

  • It must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
