What this amendment would do
Mr. Peters put forward an amendment, known as SA 1007, to the congressional budget resolution for fiscal year 2025. As folks we voted into office, we need to know what they are trying to do with our money and rules.
What The Amendment Aims To Change Or Add
Purpose Of The Change
- The amendment adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the budget resolution.
- It aims to make sure that no action taken by the United States Government under this resolution provides any financial benefit to international cartels based in Mexico or anywhere else.
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change budget levels and adjustments for legislation as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
