What this amendment would do
Mr. Heinrich submitted SA 100 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a new point of order to the bill that protects our veterans. Specifically, it aims to prevent the Senate from considering any legislation, resolution, motion, amendment, or conference report that limits veteran-owned businesses access to Small Business Administration loan programs.
To make sure our elected officials are held accountable, this rule cannot be easily brushed aside. It can only be waived, suspended, or have its ruling sustained through a three-fifths affirmative vote of the Senators duly chosen and sworn.
