What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted amendment SA 61 to the bill S. 5, which deals with requiring the Secretary of Homeland Security to take certain aliens into custody.

The purpose of this amendment is to add exceptions to the bill's requirements. Specifically, it aims to change the bill so that taking individuals into custody does not apply to:

An individual under the age of 18.
An individual eligible for relief under the deferred action for childhood arrivals program (commonly known as the DACA program).
