What this amendment would do

Mr. Barrasso submitted the amendment, known as the "Build the Wall Act of 2025", to be proposed to the bill S. 5.

The amendment aims to add a new section to the end of the bill that establishes a separate account in the general fund of the Treasury called the "Southern Border Wall Construction Fund".

All unobligated amounts in the Coronavirus State and local fiscal recovery funds will be immediately deposited into this new fund.
The Secretary of Homeland Security must use the amounts in this fund to construct and maintain physical barriers along the southern international border of the United States.
